Clemson University Top Questions

The worst thing about my school is the racial tension that can go on here. I mean for the most part it's not a wide-scale problem, but when it is, you definitely know it. It's not always a black/white issue either. Also, I think class structures also affects people because there are a lot of people here with money and they may feel that they are better than those who didn't come from wealthy backgrounds.

It's very conservative. Also, it doesn't feel like you are a part of the "Clemson family" if your parents didn't go here and contribute to a scholarship fund; this goes for being in a sorority/fraternity as well. If you're not like everyone else you won't feel as home as you should.

On-campus housing facilities.

In order to go to stores like Wal-Mart or the malls you need a car or a lot of time to take the bus.

While Clemson is very diverse, pretty much the only aspect you see is sports. The ones who make it to the games (and on the covers for everything representing the university) are preppy white kids wearing the latest orange fashions. While most students are not in a fraternity or sorority, they are some of the most widely represented organizations.
